Avenue of Mysteries Overview
John Irving's “Avenue of Mysteries” is the story of Juan Diego's life from childhood until death. As an adult, he travels and thinks back to the years of his youth, remembering the lives and tragic deaths of his sister, mother, father, adoptive parents, and friends. He relates his opinions on life's serious issues, including religion, and then faces the final moments of his life.
