"An Irish Airman Foresees his Death" is a 16-line, single-stanza poem by prominent Irish poet W.B. Yeats. It was written during World War I, in 1918, but not published until 1919 in his collection The Wild Swans at Coole. The poem is an elegy for an Irish fighter pilot Yeats knew who was killed during the war.
