As Boyd and one of the bank's tellers, Angie Bing, embark on a cross-country odyssey for Boyd to receive closure about his disgraced past, various figures conspire to turn the event into a means of making a profit. As Boyd and Angie run from these various forces, the novel explores themes of post-truth politics, wealth, gender and romance, systemic corruption, and faith.
