America’s First Daughter, a historical novel by Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie, recounts much of the life of Martha “Patsy” Jefferson, daughter of Thomas Jefferson. The story takes place from the days of Patsy's childhood through her fifties. Using personal letters and documents from Thomas Jefferson, Patsy, and others, the authors have written a story that addresses topics such as maintaining family honor, building a respectable reputation, and recognizing the importance of love in life.
