All About Love: New Visions is a series of essays by Gloria Jean Watkins, who is better known by her pen name: bell hooks. These essays explore the issue of lovelessness in contemporary society, as well as how people can live according to ethics of love. hooks challenges readers to examine and redefine the conception of love presented by the patriarchy, sexist socialization, materialism, and the mass media. She advocates for a true love that includes spiritual awakening, self-love, healing, community, and a rejection of dominating power structures.
