A Lonely Man Overview
A Lonely Man is a novel by Chris Power. The novel follows Robert, an Englishman living in Berlin with his wife and two young daughters. One day, Robert makes the acquaintance of Patrick, who is also an Englishman living in Berlin. Patrick claims to be on the run from Russian government agents. Robert does not believe that Patrick is telling the truth, but Robert listens to Patrick’s story out of curiosity. Robert also thinks that he might be able to use Patrick’s story as writing material. The novel explores themes such as discontentment, morality, interpersonal connection, and storytelling.
