Everything you need to understand or teach A Line in the Sand by Kevin Powers.
In Kevin Powers's novel A Line in the Sand, Arman Bajalan has just begun to establish normalcy in his life in Norfolk, Virginia, when he discovers a dead body on the beach where he swims every morning. The investigation that ensues causes Arman's life to intersect with those of Detectives Catherine Wheel and Lamar Adams and reporter Sally Ewell. As all four of the characters attempt to solve the mystery of the murdered man, increasing parallels between their experiences and pasts begin to emerge. Written from the third person point of view, the novel explores themes including trust, grief, and redemption.
