A House Among the Trees Overview
A House Among the Trees written by Julia Glass follows the story for four characters as they all struggled to deal with the death of an iconic, children’s book author Morty Leer. Tommy, his assistant, has been left a fortune and a will with a list of instructions she must follow. Nick is to play Morty in a movie but never got to meet his muse. Merry is desperate to befriend Tommy after Morty’s will excluded her museum from receiving his pieces. Lastly, Dani struggles to deal with the idea that he was Morty’s inspiration, yet never received compensation. This novel deals with themes of family, illness, and legacy.
