Everything you need to understand or teach A Country Life (Poem).
"A Country Life" is a pastoral poem by Katherine Philips. It was first published in 1664, in a composite volume with the full title Poems: By the most deservedly Admired Mrs. Katherine Philips, The Matchless Orinda. To Which is added Monsieur Corneille's Pompey & Horace, Tragedies. With several other Translations out of French. An unauthorized version of her work, also called "Poems," was pirated by another printer that same year. This poem, like many of Philips' works, recounts the joy she found in a rural life.
