A Colony in a Nation Overview
In his nonfiction work, A Colony in a Nation, Chris Hayes, posits that the United States is divided. The Nation, made up of primarily white Americans, enjoys the benefits of sympathetic law enforcement and the full rights of citizenship. On the other hand, the Colony, black and other minority Americans, does not enjoy these benefits. The Nation forces its laws upon the Colony in a manner more akin to imperial colonialism than democracy.
