After suffering various abuses within the family home, Leila decides to relocate at the age of 17 to the metropolis of Istanbul, Turkey and eventually finds herself dead, stuffed inside a dumpster as she uses her last store of mental energy to reflect upon the roughly 40 years of her too-short life.
