WICKED is the government agency responsible for the experiments to find a cure for the Flare. WICKED occupies a compound. This is where a series of experiments is conducted to find a cure for the disease. In the end, WICKED is shut down and the compound is destroyed.

The Berg is a type of plane or helicopter.Jorge flies away from WICKED and to Denver on the Berg with Thomas, Newt, Minho and Brenda. The Berg is also how Thomas returns to WICKED for the final experiment.

Denver is a city in Colorado. In the novel, it is where Thomas and the others go when they escape from WICKED. Denver also turns out to be one of the locations where they have crank palaces to house humans infected by the Flare.
