Summary

In Chapter 75, Cassian is on the ground. He says he thought he should “lie low while you did that” (726). Nesta kisses Cassian and calls him “mate.” They are interrupted by Mor and Azriel landing there. They say Eris is in the Hewn City, confused but unhurt. Mor says “It's Feyre.”

In Chapter 76, Azriel and Mor winnow them to the river house. Mor says Feyre has been bleeding for awhile. A healer named Madja is present and says the baby is “wedged in the birth canal” (728). Madja says there is nothing to do. Feyre wants them to cut the baby out, as the only chance he might survive, though it means she will die. Rhysand agrees. Elain begins to pray to the faerie gods and the Mother, and Nesta bows her head as well. Cassian knows Feyre, Rhysand, and the baby are all dying...
