Linda Bove, a Biography
Linda Bove is one of the deaf people who founded the Deaf West Theater Company in Los Angles. It was the first theater based on deaf actors and actresses. Bove was in the Deaf West Theater production of George Bernard Shaw's "Saint Joan." She played Saint Joan and said it was a challenging role. "Saint Joan" was Shaw's version of Joan of Arc. Linda Bove is married to a man named Ed Waterstreet. They have been married for 26 years. In the show, "Saint Joan", Waterstreet plays an inquisitor.
Linda Bove has guest starred on shows. In 1973, Bove did a short turn on the soap opera "Search for Tomorrow." In 1980, she guest starred on Happy Days. Bove also appeared in a movie called "Children of a Lesser God" in 1986. In a video for children called Land Before Time IV, there was a video made for deaf children that when characters talk a bubble pops up with Linda Bove in it and she interprets using American sign Language.
Linda Bove also has her very own 30 minute video called Sign Me a Story. In the video she shows how to express words by hand motions and how to use basic sign language.
Not everyone knows about Linda Bove and all the things she has accomplished, but she has done so much for the deaf community. Bove is a wonderful actress and teacher. Through all the things she does she is able to show her passion about making it easier for the deaf community. Linda Bove is a great person.
