A Biography of Frank Loyd Wright
Franks main style was prairie houses. Prairie houses are houses that have gently slighted roofs and usually were two floors with single story wings, they also had very large overhangs and often there were hidden gardens. Frank was a big fan of making his houses have gardens that tied in with the house. Frank also created the philosophy of organic architecture. Organic architecture is a building with its natural surroundings. Frank was against mechanical imposition; he believed that they environmental surroundings should determine architecture. He also believed that if your designing a building or something you should also use natural colors and textures. Frank was also one of the first people to start using cinder bocks with metal rods. A lot of people opposed Franks methods because they liked being more conventional. Even though a lot of people opposed Franks methods he was the one that originated a lot of the architectural technique that is used today.
