1. The golden candlesticks represent the greedy attitude of Reverend Samuel Parris. He had been preaching about getting the candlesticks and escalates it to getting the deed for the church. He is only minister in Salem history to ask for the deed, which also exemplifies his greedy nature.

2. The symbol of the cows roaming the streets is how Salem has gotten into so much chaos. The owners of the cows had been arrested because of accusations of witchcraft. The chaos represents the ill nature of the witch hunt. It represents it as a chaotic situation which could not be stopped.

3. Proctors signature represents he had given up his principles to save himself and his wife. He had been accused of lying and being a witch and was asked to confess by Reverend Hale. Hale believed that the whole witch hunt was ludicrous and was trying to persuade John to confess. After Proctor refuses, Elizabeth had said John had finally found goodness because he had put his beliefs and principles first.

4. The significance of the poppets in the play is that they were used as a manipulation method by Abigail against Mary Warren to accuse Elizabeth Proctor of witchcraft. Abigail had convinced Mary Warren to make the poppets to give it to Elizabeth, but Abigail planned to use it for a different reason. She intentionally stuck a needle in the poppet and when the Proctor house was searched, they found the poppet and explained to them her that Abigail had been stabbed at the same spot, which led to her arrest.
